Profile
Nakalema is a Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF) officer, born on 1st August, 1974. She is a firstborn of five children of Rev. Eliasaph and Midresi Sserwadda. She is married to Lt. Col. Jimmy Eddie Asizua, with whom they have six children — three biological and three adopted.
Education
Academic Background
She studied at Mbarara Junior and Rwentanga primary schools; Rutooma Secondary School for O-Level and Kibubura Girls for A-Level. She later joined Uganda College of Commerce (UCC), Kabale, for a Diploma in Business Studies (UDBS) and graduated at Makerere University Business School. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Procurement and Logistics Management (BPLM) of Nkumba University.
Nakalema also holds a Master of Security Strategy (MASS) of Makerere University.
Strategic Military Studies
Command & Staff Courses
Col. Nakalema did Basic Military Training at Kabamba and the Officer Cadet Course at Jinja Barracks (the current Senior Staff and Command College, Kimaka). She later undertook the Advanced Command and Staff Course (ACSC21) at the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom, Shrivenham.
National Defence College
Col. Nakalema was among the pioneer class of the National Security and Strategic Studies Course, Intake One, at the National Defence College of Uganda (NDC-U1) in 2021/22.
Career
National Service
She was the first Finance Officer of the Presidential Guard Brigade (PGB) and later the first Director of Finance for the Special Forces Command (SFC). In 2013, she was appointed Personal Assistant to H.E. President Museveni and later as his Private Secretary.
In 2018, Col. Nakalema was appointed Senior Presidential Advisor (SPA) and pioneer head of the State House Anti-Corruption Unit (SHACU).






She is currently the SPA and pioneer head of the State House Investors Protection Unit (SHIPU).

Award of Excellence
World Book of Records — Award of Excellence
In recognition of her extraordinary contribution towards a corruption-free Uganda and her role in inspiring integrity and ethical leadership among the youth of Uganda.
On 13th September 2025, Col. Nakalema received an Award of Excellence from the World Book of Records for her contribution towards a corruption-free Uganda and for inspiring integrity among the youth. The ceremony took place in the British Parliament, Westminster, London.
